Angels on the Move

I love the whole idea around angels. God created them to help us. (Psalm 91) There are lots of stories in the scriptures about people communicating with them. One story is about the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19.

1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.

Lot was able to see them! How often do we see angels? He bowed, I guess in amazement or homage. So what do angels look like? Is it possible these were the same angels that Abraham saw just previously in Genesis 18. Did Abraham bow to them like Lot did?

1 Now the Lord appeared to him (Abraham) by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day. 2  And when he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the earth, 3  and said, “My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please do not pass by your servant by.

It looks like Abe did bow. There were three “men” who he wanted to spend time with. He wanted to show them hospitality. So he asked Sarah, his wife, and servant to make a meal for them. They ate with him! Angels can eat! The New Testament speaks of entertaining angels. Did you know that?

Hebrews 13:2  2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Back to Lot. He didn’t feed the angels that came to his door, but he invited them. These were the same ones that Abraham was talking to earlier. They were on a mission to rescue Lot and his family from the coming destruction they were to bring.  Serious business. Lot and his family were saved by their urgency, however they hesitated ! Amazing.  If I had a visit from an angel that urged me to follow them I think I would.

When it comes to angels, I believe I have some that work with me during my mega bubble performances. They have fun moving the bubbles around the audience! Since there is no wind current for indoor shows, they become the current! Sound crazy? Not to me. I’m writing this blog piece because I’m an avid believer in them. They bring tons of joy too!

11 Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy presence is fulness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11
