May God give you great joy today!

In this post I'm talking about the significance of three days or on the Third Day in light of Easter and many other biblical events.  Third Day: A Sign of Divine Power, Timing, and Resurrection.

In Hebrew culture, three represents completion, fullness, and divine perfection.

    Seen in:

➤ The three patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob)

➤ Jonah’s three days in the belly of the fish

➤ The Trinity (in Christian understanding)

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ has the most impact on humanity than any other event in history. The event was prophesied by earlier prophets and Jesus Himself. He emphatically prepared His disciples for a very tough and gruesome journey as He described that He would die and [not lead them like a Hebrew King they envisioned.]

Jesus was to lead His believers, but from inside their hearts, where all passion and strength resides. Meaning, any believer can thus gain the same fortitude Jesus has to take dominion on the earth. Jesus promoted His Father's dominion and Kingdom over any manmade invention of power.

Therefore, Jesus' way of showing His dominion in the most dramatic way was to overcome death itself. What earthly leader has done this? Who has said they could but did not. Even King David, one of God's greatest leaders, died and did not come back to life. It was prophesied though, that one would come, in the lineage of David, to reign and rule forever. It was not Solomon, David's son, but the prophesied Jesus of Nazareth.

The Hebrews knew there would be a coming Messiah who would rule. The many stories recorded of promises given by God was for His people to rise up, take land and rule: ultimately bringing peace to all mankind.

God decided to use Three Days as a significant timing. A person who dies lingers over their body for three days and then departs. There body starts to corrupt and decay. For an intervention in this process is a miracle.

Here are some divine timings in God's people:

Throughout the Old Testament, God often intervenes dramatically on the third day:

Genesis 22:4 – Abraham is tested with Isaac (a resurrection foreshadow).

Exodus 19:11, 16 – God gives the Law at Sinai with glory on the third day.

Joshua 1:11 – Israel crosses into the Promised Land after three days.

Esther 5:1 – Esther approaches the king on the third day, leading to her people’s salvation.

In western culture, we even have the saying: Events come in threes or Three's a Charm.

Jesus' impact on the world included His own three days where He first died for mankind, departed to hell where sin resides [Jesus took on the world's sin upon Himself], and then resurrected Himself with His Father's power. He told His believers that He was to suffer and die, and also come back to life. They couldn't handle this. Their leader couldn't and shouldn't die. He is their Messaiah. The scriptures say the Messsiah would rule and reign in power, not death. Jesus had to prepare them for a different reign and ruling, from within. Not with sword and laws.

Jesus rising on the third day: Confirms His real death

And shows victory before decay, fulfilling Psalm 16:10:

“You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.”

💡 The Third Day Represents...

✅ Deliverance at just the right moment

✅ God's power breaking into hopelessness

✅ True death, followed by resurrection before corruption

    ✅ Fulfillment of prophecy

✅ A divine pattern of restoration, revelation, and life

Perhaps your life has experienced the element of Threes. I'm in my third season of life: schooling, mental illness, now overcoming and teaching others.
